Designs That Blow You Away
Beyond Design partnered with Midea, an international company, to develop innovative fan and heating solutions specifically tailored for the US market. As a leading design consultancy, we brought fresh perspectives and forward-thinking trends that align with the evolving interior design landscape, which shifts every five to seven years.
Our team conducted comprehensive consumer research to understand user behaviors and specific needs in interior room temperature control. We recognized that the market for fans and temperature control solutions tends to align with interior motif changes, so our design approach focused on staying current with trends in colors, materials, and finishes while prioritizing technical efficiency and air flow dynamics.
The design team drew heavy inspiration from Chicago architecture, incorporating clean lines with minimal surfaces that would appeal to American consumers. We balanced aesthetic appeal with our expertise in air flow dynamics and cooling technologies, ensuring that form and function worked seamlessly together.
A key innovation emerged from listening to consumer needs: an integrated remote control with a designated home position to prevent loss or misplacement. This feature gave users enhanced control over their products and provided flexible air control solutions that addressed real pain points in daily use.
Throughout the project, we maintained regular communication with Midea through structured meetings and visual presentations, keeping the international client updated at each step of the design process. Our approach included extensive sketching and refinement phases, remote dock integration studies, and a comprehensive exploration of color and finish options.
The result was a successful line of temperature control solutions that perfectly captured contemporary American design preferences while incorporating advanced air flow technology. We delivered products that not only looked appealing in modern interiors but also provided superior performance and user experience that differentiated Midea in the competitive US market.
