One of the original consumer electronic measuring devices. It was designed with attention to detail to ergonomics, with large buttons that made it easy for users to operate. Even if the wearer was wearing gloves, the Sonin tool got the job done. The design team developed a brand language, which is important because Sonin needed an identity to unify its product line.

The VBL (Visual Brand Language) contained soft lines and curves with distinct cutouts for comfortable hand placement. Additionally, colors were used to help express a good, better, and best product line.

As the line expanded, the design strategy was applied across the Sonin brand. This led to faster New Product Development (NPD) cycles. Certain parts were reused between models to save time and reduce manufacturing costs.

Through thoughtful ergonomic design and a cohesive visual brand language, Sonin successfully transformed from a single measuring device into an efficient, recognizable product ecosystem that balanced user needs with manufacturing optimization.
