Keshet: Special Needs, Extraordinary Opportunities
On this Giving Tuesday, Beyond is proud to help the Keshet organization continue to reach their goals of allowing those with disabilities to achieve their potential. Keshet is internationally recognized for helping integrate those with disabilities to over seventy sites in the Chicagoland area as well as parts of Wisconsin. Their mission is to give those individuals places to live their lives fully, whether that be as learners, employees, tenants, campers or all of the above. They were also recognized in 2016 by Slingshot (Slingshot_National_Edition_KESHET) as the one of the 50 most innovative and inspiring Jewish organizations in the United States. The Slingshot Guide has become a “go-to resource” for volunteers and activists that focus on keeping the Jewish community thriving.
Beyond Design donated to the organization and was invited to their the Benefit Concert last week featuring Kool and the Gang! The event was put on in partnership with the Jewish United Fund and Jewish Community Centers of Chicago. Keshet believes that, “individuals of all abilities should have the opportunity to learn, work, have fun, and live in a way that enables self respect and promotes self-esteem. They should be members of their own community, enjoying life along-side typically developing peers, in settings that enable their efforts and reward the community for their acceptance.”
As part of #GivingTuesdsay, Keshet is looking to double their donations from $50,000 into $100,000 today! Last checked they were at 26% of their goal and growing. If you are interested in giving to Keshet and their mission please visit here.
