Mike Friton has designed Nike footwear for 30 years and helped start the Innovation Kitchen at Nike. The purpose of the Innovation Kitchen, as the name implies, is to come up with new ideas for footwear, gadgets, apparel, etc. This video gives a bit of background on Mark Friton and the importance of looking beyond your niche and exploring things outside what a typical designer or engineer would. It’s a really inspirational video from someone who knows just what it takes to be an innovator.

“I think it’s a natural process that’s within us all. Something about curiosity that drives us toward it. Without innovation, I think we’d all become extinct.” – Mike Friton
