The BOOM Urchin Portable Bluetooth Speaker Makes Its Debut at CES 2013
Portable Bluetooth speakers are EVERYWHERE at CES 2013. We showed a photo of Samsung’s speakers in yesterday’s post (see it here) and wanted to also highlight BOOM Movement’s Urchin. BOOM is an audio line from the people behind Polk Audio targeted at the active user who wants their products to keep up with their lifestyle.
We were able to get a sneak peek at the BOOM Urchin at the show, but the product won’t hit the market until early February. The Urchin is said to be shock and water resistant with a tagline “Ready for Anything™ (RFA).” It has a removable silicone skin that is available in a number of different colors so you can customize it to your liking. The Urchin also has a carbineer, a suction cup, a screw mount, or it can be used with the optional bike mount or strap attachment. It really is R4A – backpack, shower, the car, a hiking adventure, or bike ride.
The Urchin has a built-in microphone that turns it into a hands-free speaker for any Bluetooth phone. The product will sell for $150 when it is released next month. Definitely something we might have to check out! You can read more about the product here.
