Ravenswood Welcomes New Bike Racks
In the city of Chicago, bikers are everywhere. Being able to freely ride a bike in a metropolitan city like Chicago is fun, exciting and easily accessible. Biking is one of the most popular activities to enjoy, while also making it one of the most convenient ways to get around the city.
Beyond Design was honored to be selected by the Ravenswood City Council to design and be able to brand a bike rack that represented what the Ravenswood neighborhood stands for, while supporting local bikers and to those who visit this beautiful and historic neighborhood on a constant basis. This was an amazing opportunity to be given and had a lot of fun brainstorming, designing and seeing the bike rack come to life.
Traditional half inch steel was used to construct these high quality and permanent structures that provide a sense of history for this area in Chicago. The font that is used for ‘Ravenswood’ creates an identity that fits in well with those who work and live in the community, making it look like the bike racks were installed decades ago.
