Purdue Industrial Design Students Take Over BDI Studio
Beyond Design had the pleasure of hosting Purdue University’s Senior Show on March 31st at our Ravenswood Studio. The students took full control of the event and put on a great night for Beyond clients, colleagues, and the Purdue and Ravenswood community. The studio had the students’ large posters exhibited on our brick walls and allowed the students to discuss their designs and network – a great outlet for soon to be graduates.
The group of seniors are led by former Beyond designer, Professor TJ Kim. With his guidance the group created innovative and new designs that the guests were able to view throughout the studio. From a “happy camper” starter kit for children to personalized shopping carts, there was no shortage of inventive and unique designs. It was a great opportunity to see young minds at work and the changing ways that Industrial Design students are being taught and groomed in today’s top universities. Beyond was a great venue to host as Chicago is a booming hub of creativity in the Midwest and many designers have migrated here. Beyond currently employs Purdue alumni and we are always eager to support more young designers.
Below are snap shots from the event and the student work. We welcome the opportunity to host again next year!
