Product Advancements in Health-Tracking Devices

April 3, 2012

Personal fitness monitors are becoming more and more popular and help to encourage healthy habits. However, several of these monitors often get in the way and can be uncomfortable to wear. Over the years, we have seen many software improvements that make these health-tracking systems less intrusive. We came across an article in Popular Science not too long ago and that gives three tiers (now, soon, and later) of where heart rate monitors are headed.

BodyMedia, who has been developing tracking devices for a number of years, has announced it will offer a disposable, peel-and-stick, biometric patch by the end of the year. It will be able to track calorie burn, steps taken, activity levels, sleep patterns, and more—with no wires required to transmit data. Seems pretty crazy!
