Lane Tech’s Robotics Team Takes Home the Rookie All Star Award
Congratulations to Lane Tech’s Robotics team, “X-Machina”, who took home the Rookie All Star Award at the Midwest Regional Tournament over the weekend. In this year’s competition, Ultimate Ascent, teams from all over the Midwest and three teams from Turkey competed in 3-on-3 matches, scoring points by having their robot shoot frisbees into one of three goals. In addition, teams could score even more points by having their robot climb a 9’ tall steel pyramid. Lane Tech’s victory qualifies them to compete in the World Championship event in St.Louis on April 24th through the 27th.
Any students interested in web design, videography, engineering, sports, etc. would be a great match for this team. It’s like a small business – both cross-curricular and interdisciplinary. You can check out more info on the program here.
