Tomorrow marks the start of the 2014 IDSA Midwest Conference and we couldn’t be more excited for the events this weekend. Michael Prince, the Midwest District Vice President, helped plan the conference with the help of a group of dedicated and design-loving professionals. The opening night party is tomorrow night at Motorola Mobility’s new Merchandise Mart location. After Google Inc. bought Motorola in 2012, it decided to move the phone maker’s headquarters and about 2,000 workers from an aging, increasingly vacant campus in Libertyville to new offices at the Merchandise Mart. Looks like a great creative space!
Speakers and other activities begin at 9am Saturday morning at Lane Tech College Prep. The closing party is at Whirlyball where the Student Merit Award winner will be announced (and you’ll get the chance to have a blast on bumper cars!). To close the weekend out, a light brunch will be served at Beyond Design Sunday from 10am to 1pm for IDSA members, non-members, friends, and family. For a full list of all speakers, event locations, and other details for the weekend check out the IDSA site here.
If you take any photos at the conference (or at any of the events), please share them with us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will post them on our blog next week. We would love to hear your take on the entire weekend and see what captured your eye!
