Creating Mock-ups in dig-8 [Session 6.0]

:::

Following the mock-up session, we met with the class to discuss how they planned to market their product. We introduced them to the 4 P’s (Product, Price, Place, and Promotion) and split into teams to answer a series of questions about their plan on how to implement the 4 P’s with their design.

Several of the teams had the same ideas in terms of promotional activities, including school newsletters, fundraisers, posting on blogs, social media, point of purchase displays, etc. This session was a stepping stone to their final presentation and how they would sell their product designs to the judges in the coming weeks. A few photos from the session are below.

“I would recommend dig-8 to others because it is really fun and makes you learn a whole lot about the industry, including how to make a product and how to put it in the market.”

Each team answered a series of questions regarding their product.

Mock-ups were used to help define their product and it's main features and benefits.

Teams devised their plan using the 4 P's of Marketing.

“dig-8 provides insight to what the marketing world looks like.”

Worksheets were created to help guide the students.

With the help of their mentors, students were able to better understand the key selling points for their product design.

The final design that was chosen to move forward is currently on Kickstarter. While we have already met our goal (thanks to all those who have donated!), any funding above this goal will go back into the program and help spread SEE and dig-8 to more students and more schools!

Only one day left to pledge!
