Brooklyn Cruiser Partners with Nu Hotel
NU Hotel, located in downtown Brooklyn, is encouraging their guests to use vintage cruisers to explore the nearby neighborhoods. Walking and biking distance from Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Park Slope, and Prospect Heights, NU has partnered with Brooklyn Cruisers allowing guests to ride around the lively borough on two wheels.
“Wander south past the pristine 19th century brownstones and artist warehouses to explore local bars, restaurants, and shops. Walk or bike toward Prospect Park, Brooklyn’s version of Central Park, to discover the Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanic Garden, or go a bit further to find everything from Hasidic wig makers to Caribbean music shops.
Circle back around toward downtown Brooklyn and DUMBO for a bit of high-end retail shopping and dining, and perhaps catch a concert or game at the Barclays Center afterward. Last but not least, don’t forget a visit to the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, with its spectacular views of Manhattan crowning it all.”
Their on-site fleet of vintage bikes come from the respectable and well known local shop, Brooklyn Cruiser. They are equipped with “leather trimmings, cream tires and sizable handlebar baskets” and are free for guests to take around town. Compared to New York’s widely popular bike share program from Citi Bikes, which is a $10 24-hour rental fee, the vintage cruisers are a great perk for tourists staying at Nu. The bikes are stylish, retro, and will give visitors a unique way to explore the city.
“Nu Hotel’s bike program provides guests with the opportunity to truly dive into Brooklyn culture. With bike paths leading from Downtown Brooklyn, near the hotel, right up to Williamsburg, the Brooklyn Cruisers are great for exploration and discovery. Everybody who comes to New York City can get on a bicycle and ride around fairly conveniently, Nu guests just have it a bit easier and better”
With May being the official Bike Month, we are proud to see local bike shops embraced and that biking has become a rapidly available option to travel and site see. In the Midwest we’ll be riding all month as we prepare for our CR8 Kickstarter launch on Memorial Day!
