Bringing dig-8 to more schools in Chicago

October 3, 2013

Since our talk on dig-8 at the IDSA International Conference that was held in Chicago over the summer, we have been overwhelmed by the number of people who have expressed interest in getting involved.

The opportunity to spread the dig program to additional CPS schools became real when we met with a Drafting-Technology class at Lane Tech College Prep in Chicago. The teacher, Jesse Berlanga, has offered to incorporate a four week dig program in his class of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. This will be the first dig program implemented at the high school level in Chicago and our hope is that it will set a platform for how a program like this can be sustainable in all schools.

If you are interested in learning how you can be a part of the program, please come to our studio on Tuesday, October 8th, at 6pm. Keep in mind, your help doesn’t have to require much time – you can volunteer for just one session if you’d like. This is what next week is for, to figure out how we can make it work for you to be a part of this program. We saw first-hand how the students benefited from the dig program and we want others to be a part of it as well.

Please RSVP to Jessie at jessie@startbeyond.com if you would like to attend.
