In the Spring of 2013, one of Lane Tech’s Robotics Teams will be entering the FIRST Robotics Challenge as a rookie team and we are proud to be a sponsor. At Beyond Design, we understand the value of technology and engineering as well as education and collaboration. Lane Tech makes it possible for young students to better understand the opportunities that await them in the technological fields after graduation and this program allows them to gain real-world engineering experience and develop valuable life skills that can be applied to any career.

FIRST Robotics is an organization that allows students in the United States and across the world to experience engineering first hand with the support of teachers, mentors, professional engineers, and community members. FRC Teams are thrown into a real-world engineering experience under complex rules, limited resources, and strict time constraints. Teams are challenged to design, build, program, and test an industrial grade robot that can accomplish prescribed tasks specific to the FRC Competition. Being involved with a FIRST Robotics team is an experience unlike any other, and students who are active in FIRST programs not only develop valuable life skills that can be applied in any career, but they also inspire innovation and leadership among their peers and community.

You can check out a video describing the 2013 FIRST Robotics Competition Game below, as well as the Lane Tech team’s website here. We look forward to seeing the future robot the team creates!
