A Road Map for the UX Design Industry
The Disciplines of User Experience Design is a mega Venn diagram by Dan Saffer (given a makeover by Thomas Gläser) that explores all of the overlap between UX and other fields of design.
In the chart you’ll see that Industrial Design overlaps with UI, UX, Architecture, and Human Factors. However, this isn’t to say that this is all that encapsulates ID. More than likely, there are a number of road maps for the entire UX design industry, but this one helps show (and explain) why it’s so hard to define a good UX.
