A New Way to Create: The Cintiq 24HD

September 15, 2011

One great thing about being a designer at Beyond is having access to the latest technology, my favorite being the Wacom Cintiq. It makes sketching and rendering much easier and more efficient. Earlier this week, Wacom announced their new Cintiq 24HD, their largest combination monitor/tablet yet. As the name implies, it boasts a 24-inch screen with HD definition, providing a killer 1920×1200 display.

The most exciting thing about the Cintiq 24HD is an innovative design feature which assists to address an ergonomic issue: How can we adjust this massive tablet into multiple working positions that we favor? The solution includes a well-designed base and adjustable supporting arms that move and lock the tablet into a variety of positions. In a demo video, the Cintiq screen can be adjusted to extend over the table edge and get closer to the user. The user can sit back and sketch in a more comfortable position. According to the demo video, the model works pretty well.

You can learn more about the product details here, as well as watch the video demonstrating the product below. I can’t wait to check it out!
