As a full-service product development consultancy with 25+ years of experience. We are seeking to hire a full time GUI Designer who will lead user interaction projects. This individual must be an exceptionally creative, smart, fun-loving and have a passion for creating integrated GUI solutions to products.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Senior GUI Designer you will be working with Researchers, Strategists and Industrial Designers to work through the product architecture and develop the Graphic User Interface (GUI) for B2C and B2B applications. You must have the proven ability to create product applications through prototypes for both Android and iOS. You will carry out tasks independently throughout different phases of a project, covering a wide range of interaction design areas, such as embedded system HMI, web, mobile applications, mobile OS customization and desktop application. As a Senior GUI Designer you will be responsible for:

– Collaborating with a team of designers and/or client representatives in defining a project requirements and design objectives, and in creating the vision for the project execution

– Collaborating in the planning, execution, and synthesis of design research programs, from qualitative ethnography to competitive and trend surveys

– Designing wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mock-ups, and build light weight prototypes to support communicating the vision of a design solution to internal stakeholders and end users

– Create new layouts, iconography and other graphic compositions

– Participate in usability tests

– Create full documentation

– Lead and contribute to the design and development of design language systems, including interaction, visuals and motion

– Lead and contribute to the creation and maintenance of design documentation, including style guides, UI toolkits and other design documents

– Lead dedicated creative workshops with the participation of designers, client representatives, and users, following structured ideation and brainstorming methodologies

– Strong time management skills and ability to be self-directed when needed

– Develop product branding including logos, packaging, web development and other items

– Support Beyond Design’s marketing efforts by designing website updates, brochures, collateral material and other promotional items as requested

DEMONSTRATES THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:
– Strong analytical and problem solving skills paired with experience-orientated design thinking, familiar with user-centric design processes

– Total ownership and mastery of the interaction design techniques, methodologies and approaches, including personae and scenarios, experience maps, interaction models, UI mechanics information architectures, navigation models, task-flows, wireframes, and others, and with a variety of approaches to illustrate them, including but not limited to sketches, diagrams, physical mock-ups, and others

– In-depth knowledge of the design impact of different product/service physical form factors, appearance and affordances, sensors and interaction modes (touch, voice, gestures, etc.), screens and display technologies (resolutions, pixel densities, aspect ratios. etc.), for popular personal devices and IoT platforms

– Understanding of product positioning and technical requirements, and ability of translating this understanding in actionable design directions

– Ability to oversee the creation of clear and detailed design documents intended for an audience of engineers and software developers with no design background

– Ability to contribute to the creation of future and current product concepts presentations, interactive demonstrations, and video scenarios

-You draw your inspiration from user needs, but also from trends in design, technology, society, etc.

-You believe in teamwork and can facilitate co-creation workshops with different stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS:
– Bachelor’s degree in User Experience or Graphic User Interface (GUI) / New Media or an equivalent degree. (Master’s degree a plus)

– Over 3 years of professional UX/GUI design experience in a consulting or in-house environment

– Completed studies or classes in the field of Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Information Design, Interaction Design, Media Design, User Experience or have spent a few years designing successful products that has a digital user interface

– Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Axure, Adobe Premiere, MS Office, QuickTime and knowledge in After Effect, Final Cut Pro, Sketchbook Pro or equivalent, InVision, Framer, Pixate, XD

– Familiarity with developers in HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Objective-C, etc. Coding skills for web and/or mobile are not a must, but a definite plus

– Experience in creating interactive prototypes to varying levels of fidelity to demonstrate and validate interaction concepts

– Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication and presentation skills
