The DWX20 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker was an opportunity to breathe new life into an everyday appliance while honoring the Mr. Coffee brand. We gave the product a fresh, modern look with clean lines and simplified details that align with modern kitchen aesthetics.

The user experience was a top priority. Designers made the water chamber more visible by adding dual-sided windows that let users quickly and accurately pour water up to the fill line. From any angle, users could see how much water the 12-cup machine needed. This small but meaningful improvement made the brewing process more intuitive without increasing production costs. We also introduced cord storage that retracts into the product to reduce countertop clutter and make storage easier.

Behind the simplicity of the form is an efficient design. Engineers and designers reduced the number of product parts. We worked closely with manufacturing constraints to facilitate assembly and lower production costs. From the tactile control buttons to the balance of form and function, our industrial design work developed a more refined, user-friendly coffee machine with a great design at a valuable price point.
