Midea looked to Beyond Design to gain insight and direction for the design of an inexpensive microwave unit specifically targeted to enter the US market. In order to reach the high production volume expectations the design had to be gender-neutral, compact, and attract a younger generation. We educated our client about the US market and provided design direction with current trends and suggested finishes. Working within the project requirements our team created a series of designs that emphasize character without increasing the manufacturing cost for our client.
