The ConnectSense Smart Outlet 2 was designed at a pivotal moment in the rise of smart home technology. It ushered in a new level of control, convenience, and energy awareness for everyday users. We set out to design a product that felt familiar yet forward-thinking. It helps users turn devices on and off remotely via app or voice command, create custom schedules, and monitor energy usage in real time. With a clean white finish that mirrors the look of standard outlets, the outlet seamlessly blends into home environments while standing out just enough thanks to its clean white palette and subtle blue LED lighting accent.

From a design perspective, we focused on creating a housing that was as smart and intentional as the technology inside. Using a 0-degree draft angle, we achieved a minimal, architectural look with a timeless quality. In addition to two traditional sockets, we integrated a USB port for added flexibility and convenience. Our mechanical engineers collaborated closely with the client’s electrical engineering team to ensure the design supported the internal PCB layout while maintaining a refined aesthetic. The result is a product that creates a smart home for tech-savvy users.
