appliance DESIGN Silver Award 2016
Congratulations! appliance DESIGN’s Excellence in Design has awarded the SmartOutlet with a EID silver 2016 award. We entered the product in, on behalf of our client, Grid Connect and we’re thrilled that we got a chance to work on such a great project. Grid Connect, a leader in the embedded and networking marketplace that manufactures products for technology needs. Wanting to create and design a smart outlet, Grid Connect worked with Beyond Design to help develop a device that would allow users to control and monitor the power usage in their home – with a touch of a button or Siri control from an iPhone.
The ConnectSense Smart Outlet was designed to be simple and convenient to install into any room. With a single plug-in device, configuring and controlling is self-explanatory when putting together. Moreover, the USB charging port supports speedy charging capabilities for the iPhone6, iPhone6+ and iPads, freeing up outlets and eliminating multiple chargers and cords that could get tangled everywhere.
