Beyond Design Attends 2017 Chicago Auto Show
Part of our Beyond Design team attended the 110th annual Chicago Auto Show earlier last month and saw some great and innovative vehicle designs. Below are some that caught our eye:
Camp Jeep Indoor Track:
Fan favorite, Jeep, brought back their indoor trail for 13th year. Participants were able to sit driver or passenger side to experience how different Jeep models can take on:
• Rugged terrain
• Climbing up a 35 degree hill
• Going over jagged boulder-like terrain
• Climbing up a set of stairs
Kia Ski Gondola:
Similar to the Jeep’s tough all terrain vehicles, Kia unleashed their tenacious Ski Gondola. With its dominant and bulky track “wheels,” Kia’s concept car was a stand out. The mountain ready gondola also features:
• LED light bars on the hood, front, and rear of car for optimal visibility in snow storms
• Cameras as opposed to side mirrors
• Sleek black metal roof to rack skis and snowboards
• Suicide style doors
• Autonomous – the gondola will take you up and down the slopes
2017 Hyundai Genesis G90:
• Competitors include Audi A8, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and BMW 7
• The white luxury sedan has a 3.3 liter twin turbocharged V6 engine
• 365 horsepower
• 8 speed automatic transmission
• Rear or all wheel drive
• 17mpg (city)
• Optional emergency breaking and pedestrian detection, 360 degree camera, blind spot detection
• Price: $68,000+
